The Atrium Suites

The front desk is only open from 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, so guests who plan to arrive before or after these times must contact The Atrium at least 48 hours prior to arrival to receive late check-in instructions. Before undergoing major renovations and converting into The Atrium apartments in 1976, this building was a seedy hotel called The Greenwich. In 1951, Allen Ginsberg lived in this building and used it as his creative base, while taking notes and writing portions of his famous poem “Howl.”

Making travelers feel at home in New York City, the Atrium provides a guestroom environment that better resembles an uptown apartment, rather than a hotel room. These suites feature country oak wood floors, coffered ceilings and separate living areas. Modest and traditional, the interiors are furnished with mid-90’s furniture, throw rugs, and fully equipped entertainment armoires, with VCRs, CD players and cable television. The kitchenettes come with refrigerators, stovetops, sinks, cabinets and coffeemakers.

Bordered by Sullivan and Thompson Streets, in the heart of Greenwich Village, The Atrium has a very coveted address on famous Bleeker Street. This Manhattan property is located only two blocks from SoHo and one block from NYU. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy walking from The Atrium to the Washington Square Park, which is only two blocks north of the hotel.

The New York Subway stops only four blocks from the hotel, at the intersection of 4th Street and 6th Avenue.
