Grand Central Station

Formally named Grand Central Terminal, Grand Central Station is the largest train platform to date. It is both above and below ground with 67 tracks. You can get anywhere in New York City by taking the subway, but it will also take you to Connecticut! It’s not only famous for the history and size of the terminal, but also the many restaurants and the world famous mural on the ceiling.

A mainstay in the station is the Oyster Bar which opened in 1913 and is still specializing in seafood today. The stations ceiling has had 12 year’s worth of renovations. The original mural was painted like an astronomical sky, but as time passed this masterpiece was damaged and covered in tobacco tar. Now that the renovations have been completed the starry sky on the ceiling shines once again.
